The Critical Difference
Traditional cricothyrotomy kits introduce excessive procedural steps, instrument exchanges (scalpel, cric hook, bougie, airway tube), and unnecessary gear that increase opportunities for end-user error during time-critical airway emergencies. Conventional modified tubes lack a purpose-built 90-degree bend, making them highly susceptible to kinking beneath the skin—a risk compounded in cold environments where increased material stiffness restricts airflow without immediate detection.
The ProCric™ Cricothyrotomy Kit (NSN 6515-01-737-1154) simplifies emergency surgical airway placement down to two hands: a scalpel in one, ProCric in the other. Featuring the patented Popp Obturator™ and the RotoTrach™ 6.0 airway tube, it uses a flattened, angled introducer to progressively dilate the incision, eliminating the need for separate cric hooks, bougies, or additional cuts.
