Standard rigid windlass tourniquets can struggle to achieve occlusion on small limbs, pediatric patients, or working dogs (K9s), and are impossible to apply high in axillary or inguinal areas. Furthermore, carrying separate elastic wraps, pressure dressings, and tourniquets adds unnecessary bulk to operator kits.
The SWAT-T™ Tourniquet (part of Combat Medical Systems’ MARCH™ Medical Gear) is an ultra-versatile trauma device designed for military, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams, and pre-hospital providers. Stating its exact method of application—Stretch, Wrap, And Tuck—the SWAT-T™ functions as a primary or back-up tourniquet, pressure dressing, and elastic wrap all in one.
