Traditional nasopharyngeal airways (NPAs) have remained largely unchanged for decades, leading to frequent field challenges: rotation, backing out during patient movement, material deformation in storage, and under-insertion caused by traditional trumpet-style flanges. Conventional NPAs also rely heavily on facial tape for securement, which regularly fails on sweaty, oily, or contaminated skin.
The SurSecure™ Nasopharyngeal Airway addresses these failure points head-on. Crafted from medical-grade platinum silicone with high elastic resilience, it maintains shape and patency without permanent disfigurement. Featuring an integrated Anti-Rotation SurSecur™ Clip, it eliminates the need for facial tape while securing proper insertion depth and orientation.
The Problems We Solved:
- Airway Migration & Rotation: Integrated anti-rotation clip locks the airway in place, eliminating backing out and reliance on facial tape.
- Material Deformation: High-resilience platinum silicone resists kinking and permanent disfigurement during long-term storage and field carry.
- Flange Under-Insertion: Purpose-built depth-stop design replaces outdated trumpet flanges to ensure correct anatomical placement.
- Lumen Obstruction: Distal posterior fenestrations maintain continuous airflow even if the primary lumen becomes partially blocked.
